Job summary

ING Hubs Philippines is seeking a Cloud Engineer - networking to design, implement, and manage solutions in the Public Cloud domain used by ING DevOps teams across the globe.

The role involves collaborating with DevOps, SRE, and DevSecOps teams in the Philippines, Netherlands, and Poland to deliver a safe and compliant infrastructure for ING.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy platform features as defined by the Product Manager.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for IaC environments.

• Maintain and upgrade applications and platforms.
• Implement security controls and governance.
• Participate in on-call rotations.

• As a Cloud Engineer - networking, you will be reporting to a Chapter Lead, and work closely with fellow Cloud Engineers both within Philippines, Netherlands and Poland to design, implement, manage, and deliver solutions in the Public Cloud Domain consumed by ING DevOps teams in many countries throughout the globe.
• Cloud Engineers are part of the Infra and Architecture Area within the Shared Tech Department of ING Hubs PH. They work closely with teams in the global Infra domain and other domains of ING that cover both Private and Public Cloud workloads.
• You will work together with DevOps, SRE, and DevSecOps of various teams to deliver a safe and compliant infrastructure for ING.
  
  

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy platform features defined by the Product Manager
• Build deployment and test pipelines for Infrastructure as Code environments
• Draft effective and applicable technical solutions that fit business needs and requirements
• Together with your team, perform Proof-of-Concepts on technology to improve quality and cost.
• For applications and platforms owned by the squad:
• Provide technical consultation on applications and platforms to other Engineering teams and the 1st line Public Cloud support team
• Manage, maintain, update, and upgrade applications and platforms
• Implement security controls and policies required
• Join rotation of on-call engineers that support the applications and platforms
• Analyze and troubleshoot incidents and resolve in a timely manner
• Work with the Product Manager and fellow Public Cloud Engineers in prioritizing backlog and deliverables
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigating activities as needed
• Create and assist in the documentation of solutions
• Contribute to the definition of technical standards and guidance for the team and chapter
  
  

Key Capabilities/Experience

• Experience and knowledge of Public Cloud Services (Azure)
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience with Public Cloud networking services (Application Gateways, Firewalls, VNet / VPC, Frontend services)
• Experience in creating CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps, Github actions)
• Experience in (re)writing code (Python, Bash, Golang)
• Experience in CDN services (Cloudflare, Akamai)
• Experience in working with Linux-based Operating Systems (Debian based)
• Experience in designing network security concepts (SSE, ZTA, WAF, DDOS, TLS, Policy as Code)
• Knowledge of networking concepts (VPN, BGP, MPLS, DNS)
• Experience in containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong understanding of basic Public Cloud concepts
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Strong Foundation in Networking Fundamentals and Cloud Networking Concepts
• Basic understanding of Cloud Security and Governance
• Communication Skills: Public Cloud Engineers work with several engineering teams from different parts of the globe and regularly present their work to multiple stakeholders
• Ability to think and work independently and contribute to the overall effort
• Cultural Adaptability: Ability to work well within a Cross-Cultural team environment
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to be a self-starter and work in a fast-paced environment performing designing, writing, editing, modifying, and debugging code
