Job summary

NCS Group in the Philippines invites a Cloud Engineer to design, build, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, GCP and Alibaba. You will optimize applications for the cloud, handle deployments, and translate client requirements into robust cloud solutions.

You’ll apply IaC templates, collaborate with development teams, ensure security, monitor performance, and support migration of on‑premise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, Eng or related.
• 3+ years in web apps, web services, or mobile apps; DevOps/Software Engineer is valuable; 1 cloud certification.
• Cloud providers AWS/Azure/GCP/Alibaba.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
• SDLC and Object-Oriented Design/Programming.
• HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks.
• MySQL, MongoDB or similar databases.
• Web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
• IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Git tooling and DevOps practices.
• Version control with SVN/Git.
• Debugging and optimization.
• Server-side setup (Linux/Windows).
• Web to mobile integration.
• Java, Python, AWS, and .Net are a plus.

General Responsibilities: As a Cloud Engineer, you'll design, build, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP/Alibaba) while optimizing applications for the cloud, ensuring seamless migration and ongoing performance. The role involves coding, handling deployments, configuring cloud infrastructure, staying updated on emerging technologies, and collaborating with clients and development teams to translate requirements into functional cloud solutions.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Design, Develop, and Manage Cloud Solutions
• Design, build, and manage highly secure, scalable, and available architectures in the target cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP/Alibaba) for small scale projects in close coordination with development teams and project management.
• Implement and execute well-defined Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and scripts for basic infrastructure provisioning and configuration tasks (cloud infrastructure components, including networking and security services.)
• Support the conversion of technical component designs into functional back-end or front-end code.
• Design operational processes for clients to ensure successful cloud adoption and management.
• Apply security best practices and monitor cloud security posture.
• Deliver Optimized Cloud Applications
• Configure and deploy cloud applications to different staging environments for optimal performance.
• Manage migration of on-premises applications and data to the cloud
• Monitor cloud management and data storage services.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently related to cloud infrastructure and applications and participate in reviewing project requirements.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget, applying generally accepted programming standards and techniques.
• Utilize appropriate and standard monitoring and testing tools for cloud performance and resource utilization.
• Create and maintain Unit Tests for applications before Quality Assurance (QA) testing to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of cloud resources provisioned.
• Collaborate with the testing team to ensure seamless application integration with cloud services (Application interaction with cloud services like databases or storage).
• Maintain and handle project source code repositories.
• Reviews code for functionality, adherence to coding standards, and basic security principles.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Collaborate effectively with clients to understand and meet their SDLC requirements, business needs, and cloud adoption goals.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Regularly report on cloud performance, resource utilization, and project progress.
• Participates in training, design, documentation, and delivery efforts with the Project Manager.
• Technology Evaluation:
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to recommend optimal solutions.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Other job-related activities may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education – At least graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or any related course.
• Related Work Experience – At least 3 years of working experience in developing websites, web applications, web services, or mobile applications. Prior experience in roles such as Software Engineer, System Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps Engineer is valuable. Must at least have 1 Certification (Associate Level) in any of the cloud platform.
• Developing a cloud architecture with various solutions addressing computing, storage solutions, security measures, networking, and automation capabilities.
• Cloud Service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba)
