Job summary

Suzhou Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co.,Ltd. seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to oversee compliance, contract drafting and risk management for overseas operations.

You will advise on regulatory matters in construction, labor, tax, and foreign investment, support bidding documents, and manage on-site contract performance issues. The role requires Mandarin and English fluency, 5+ years in legal roles (construction preferred), and strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
• 5+ years of legal work experience, preferably in construction/decor.
• Familiar with host-country laws/regulations; project experience preferred.
• Knowledge of international engineering contract systems such as FIDIC; contract performance management.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong risk analysis and risk-prevention mindset.
• Rigorous, detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
• High sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical compliance advice on legal/regulatory matters in construction, labor, tax, and foreign investment in the host country.
• Draft, review, and negotiate bidding documents, contracts, agreements, and external correspondence to ensure legal compliance.
• Handle on-site legal matters related to contract performance: correspondence, claims, payment collection, labor compliance, disputes.
• Manage non-litigation disputes, litigation, and arbitration; liaise with local law firms and enforcement authorities.
• Provide day-to-day legal advisory services and support for business decisions and negotiations.
• Develop localized legal risk control mechanisms and refine internal processes and standard contracts.
• Prepare compliance manuals and run training sessions; execute other tasks from leadership.
