Job summary

DHL Express Philippines is seeking a seasoned Customs Clearance Lead to supervise daily operations, ensure timely, compliant clearance, and drive performance against local KPIs. You will coach the team, manage rosters, review declarations, and provide expert advisory support to customers and internal teams.

Coordinate with customs authorities, maintain audit-ready records, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
• Line Trainer Certification is preferred.
• IATA Dangerous Goods Acceptance Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 4–5 years of operational experience in logistics, transportation, customs clearance, or freight forwarding.
• Experience supervising teams and managing performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of the customs clearance operation.
• Manage work rosters and supervise the clearance department to meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and supervise daily customs clearance operations to ensure accurate, timely clearance in compliance with regulations and DHL standards.
• Monitor team performance to achieve KPIs including COA, BOS, customer satisfaction, cost management, and turnaround times.
• Provide expert customs advisory support to internal and external customers.
• Review, approve, and oversee customs declarations and documentation.
• Coordinate with Customs Authorities and stakeholders to resolve shipment issues and maintain relationships.
• Ensure compliance and audit readiness by maintaining accurate records and monitoring bonded shipments.
• Develop, coach, and manage the Customs Clearance team through performance management and training.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring clearance performance and implementing corrective actions.
