Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland seeks an Assistant Manager for its FAAS team to lead small to medium international compliance and financial reporting engagements with limited supervision.

You will work with managers, senior leaders and finance professionals in multinationals, reviewing statements under IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP while developing junior staff and supporting business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent).
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in audit, accounting advisory or financial reporting.
• Top 10 firm experience preferred.
• Strong IFRS/FRS 102/US GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of small to medium international compliance and financial reporting engagements with limited supervision, within agreed timelines, budgets and statutory filing deadlines.
• Support managers and senior leaders in delivering complex engagements, taking ownership of assigned workstreams and coordinating effectively with clients and engagement teams.
• Review financial statements prepared under IFRS, FRS 102, US GAAP and other frameworks, and prepare more complex statements where required.
• Build strong client relationships and work with finance stakeholders and Grant Thornton colleagues across EMEA, APAC and the Americas.
• Lead, guide and develop seniors and staff assigned to engagements by setting clear expectations and reviewing their work to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, training and other business development initiatives.
• Maintain current technical knowledge by monitoring accounting, reporting and regulatory developments.
