Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) in the Philippines seeks a senior professional to lead the delivery of small to medium international compliance and financial reporting engagements with limited supervision, within agreed timelines, budgets and statutory filing deadlines.

You will support managers, review financial statements under IFRS, FRS 102 and US GAAP, build strong client relationships with finance stakeholders across EMEA, APAC and the Americas, and guide junior staff to ensure high‑quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Acknowledged accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent).
• Post-qualification experience in audit, accounting advisory or financial reporting.
• Experience in a Top 10 firm or comparable environment preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of small to medium international compliance and financial reporting engagements with limited supervision.
• Support managers and senior leaders in delivering complex engagements, owning workstreams and coordinating with clients and teams.
• Review financial statements prepared under IFRS, FRS 102, US GAAP and other frameworks; prepare more complex statements when required.
• Build strong client relationships and collaborate with finance stakeholders and Grant Thornton colleagues across EMEA, APAC and the Americas.
• Lead, guide and develop seniors and staff assigned to engagements; set expectations and review work for high-quality delivery.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, training and other business development initiatives.
• Maintain current technical knowledge by monitoring accounting, reporting and regulatory developments.
• Comply with internal risk management and quality standards.
• Take a proactive approach to client challenges and identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and service.

• Support managers and other senior leaders in delivering complex engagements, taking ownership of assigned workstreams and coordinating effectively with clients and engagement teams.
• Review financial statements prepared under IFRS, FRS 102, US GAAP and other relevant accounting frameworks and, where required, prepare more complex financial statements.
• Build strong client relationships and work collaboratively with finance stakeholders and Grant Thornton colleagues across EMEA, APAC and the Americas.
• Lead, guide and develop seniors and staff assigned to engagements by setting clear expectations, providing day-to-day support and reviewing their work to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, training and other business development initiatives.
• Maintain current technical knowledge by monitoring relevant accounting, reporting and regulatory developments.

Skills & Experience

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• Relevant post‑qualification experience in audit, accounting advisory or financial reporting, including experience taking ownership of assignments and guiding junior colleagues.
• Experience gained within a Top 10 accountancy firm or comparable professional practice environment is preferred.
• Strong hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, from straightforward accounts to more complex sets of financial statements.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102 and/or US GAAP.
• Experience working with multinational organisations would be advantageous but is not essential; this may have been gained in industry or professional practice.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective client and team relationships.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, work to tight timelines and meet statutory filing deadlines.
• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in understanding clients’ businesses.
• Working knowledge of ONESOURCE, WORKIVA or similar accounts preparation software would be beneficial.
