Job summary

OpenText (Philippines), Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely month-end close across global operations. You will manage reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses, while supporting SOX controls and process improvements with consolidation tools.

The role requires 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with strong US GAAP knowledge, and leadership experience is a plus. Collaboration with stakeholders across regions is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with global operations and strong US GAAP knowledge.
• Experience in month-end close, journal entry preparation, and reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with SAP; familiarity with BlackLine, CoreShare, Seamless or similar consolidation tools and AI-enabled tools preferred.
• Prior team leadership, coaching, or people management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and estimates in compliance with US GAAP and policies.
• Manage month-end close activities including balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of open items.
• Perform financial analysis and variance reviews with explanations for balance sheet and P&L movements.
• Support global accounting and reporting processes across regions and entities.
• Execute internal controls and SOX compliance requirements; provide audit support.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in system, automation, and transformation initiatives.

The Opportunity

As part of OpenText’s Finance organization, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The role supports global accounting operations, drives process improvements, and partners with stakeholders across functions to deliver accurate financial results.

You Are Great At:

• Preparing and recording journal entries, accruals, and estimates in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

• Managing month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of reconciliation open items.

• Performing financial analysis and variance reviews, providing meaningful explanations for balance sheet and P&L fluctuations.

• Supporting global accounting and reporting processes across multiple regions and entities.

• Executing internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and audit support activities.

• Identifying process improvement opportunities and participating in system, automation, and transformation initiatives.

What It Takes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including global accounting operations and strong US GAAP knowledge.

• Proven experience in month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and open-item management.

• Hands‑on experience with SAP; experience with BlackLine, CoreShare, Seamless (or similar consolidation tools), and AI-enabled tools is highly preferred.

• Prior team leadership, coaching, or people management experience is an advantage.
