Job summary

Merck Group in Manila is seeking a General Ledger Team Lead to oversee a 10–15-person team in our Shared Service Center, ensuring accurate month-end close and compliant financial reporting.

You will drive process improvements, mentor staff, and collaborate with local and global teams to uphold IFRS/GAAP and tax compliance while working on-site in Taguig during a midshift/night schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• 5-8+ years in General Ledger Accounting Operations with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and tax.
• Experience in Shared Services Center environment preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 10–15 General Ledger Accountants.
• Oversee daily GL operations, including month-end close (MEC) activities.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial data and reports to internal customers.
• Ensure IFRS, GAAP, and tax compliance.
• Drive process improvements and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with local entity finance and global teams.
