Job summary

Merck Group in Manila's Shared Service Center is seeking a General Ledger Expert to drive financial integrity and complex accounting for assigned entities. You will lead MEC, ensure compliance with local and group policies, and partner with local finance teams.

The role demands mentoring junior accountants, optimizing processes, and ensuring GL master data integrity across ERP systems. Based in Taguig, mid/night MEC shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or CPA preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in General Ledger accounting operations.
• Strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge and experience in a Shared Services Center.
• Experience with SAP and Non-SAP ERPs.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence and financial integrity for assigned entities.
• Own complex accounting treatments and MEC orchestrations.
• Mentor junior accountants and drive process improvements.
• Prepare and analyze high-quality financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee reconciliations of high-risk accounts and ensure SOX/ICFR compliance.
• Act as gatekeeper for GL master data integrity and ERP upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align end-to-end processes.
