Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a GIS professional to perform basic to moderate GIS data development and analysis. You will build GIS databases from hard-copy maps and GPS data, account for map projections, and support map layouts and web maps. Travel may be required to support projects and clients.

The role involves quality control, developing simple scripts, and assisting in geodatabases design while supporting hardware/software testing at client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1 year of GIS experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update GIS databases from maps, plans, and GPS data.
• Support map layouts, atlas maps, and web maps.
• Collect field data using laptops/tablets; perform QA/QC on data.
