Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai, India seeks a Mid-Level GIS Specialist to support environmental projects using Esri software suites, ArcGIS Online, and mobile data collection tools. The role involves collaboration with project managers, GIS leads, and field scientists to deliver geospatial solutions end-to-end.

The successful candidate will have 3–4 years of GIS experience, strong spatial analysis and data management skills, and a willingness to learn new GIS tools and automation techniques.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of professional GIS experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geography or related field and/or GIS Certification.
• Proficient with Esri software and core GIS principles.
• Experience in environmental or utility sectors preferred.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, C#, FME Form/Flow or other GIS software preferred.
• Experience with mobile field apps such as Field Maps or Survey123 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality mapping deliverables
• Develop and maintain GIS databases and hosted feature layers
• Perform intermediate spatial analysis and geoprocessing
• Build and configure Web apps, including webmaps/dashboards, using ArcGIS Online
• Support GIS workflows automation with Python/JavaScript/SQL/C#
• Learn and use GIS tools like FME Desktop/Server or open-source GIS software
