Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a GIS Analyst to perform data development, map layout creation, and basic GIS analysis. You will work under supervision with data from maps, plans, GPS, and field surveys, ensuring accuracy and consistency across projects.

Your role includes QA/QC, basic scripting, and supporting end users with GIS applications while assisting in database design and software testing as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 1 year of progressively responsible GIS experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally if needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update GIS databases from maps, site plans, and GPS data.
• Identify map projection differences and overlay information from sources.
• Support map layouts, atlas maps, and web maps.
• Collect field data with laptops/tablets or GPS.
• Perform QA/QC on GIS data.
• Conduct basic GIS analysis to support projects.
• Develop simple scripts or modify existing ones, especially Python.
• Assist in GIS hardware/software testing and installation.
