Qualifications

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Trade Manager to join our team in the Bicol Region on a full-time basis. In this strategic leadership position, you will oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of multiple retail and trading locations, ensuring consistent delivery of company standards, profitability, and customer satisfaction across your portfolio of stores. This role is pivotal to our expansion strategy and directly impacts the success of our retail operations in the region. You will report to senior management and serve as a key driver of operational excellence and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the operational performance of multiple retail locations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
2. Monitor and analyse sales performance, inventory levels, and financial metrics across assigned stores to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
3. Recruit, train, supervise and develop store managers and staff, fostering a high-performing team culture and maintaining staff engagement
4. Implement and enforce company standards for merchandising, visual displays, store cleanliness, and customer service across all locations
5. Manage budgets, control costs, and work towards achieving or exceeding sales targets and profitability goals for the area
6. Conduct regular store visits and audits to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide coaching and support to store teams
7. Develop and execute local marketing and promotional initiatives to drive footfall and sales within the Bicol Region
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and key business partners to ensure seamless operations
9. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform strategic recommendations and operational decisions
10. Report on area performance to senior management and participate in strategic planning and decision-making

What we’re looking for

1. 5+ years of experience in retail management or multi-site management within the consumer products or retail sector
2. Proven track record of successfully managing multiple retail locations and delivering consistent sales growth and profitability
3. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, develop and mentor store managers and teams
4. Excellent financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L management, inventory control, and cost management
5. Demonstrated ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and business performance metrics to drive operational improvements
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation
7. Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising standards, and best practices in customer service
8. Proficiency in using retail management systems and Microsoft Office applications
9. Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10. Willingness to travel regularly between assigned locations within the Bicol Region
11. Preferred: Experience in trading operations or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environments
