Overview
Here’s the difference you’ll make: The role requires developing a comprehensive understanding of business risks and their implications on internal controls, identifying process non-compliance, and providing structured recommendations for remediation. It also involves conducting reasonable reviews of financial results and other quantitative data to ensure accuracy and reliability, as well as leading or contributing to high-impact, cross-functional projects aligned with organizational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Prepares regular/monthly journals: accruals, prepayments, adjusting entries, and all relevant accounting entries
- Performs recording of inventory related entries and reconciliation of inventory accounts
- Performs revenue reconciliation and prepares balance sheet accounts reconciliation on a regular basis
- Performs month/quarter/annual closing activities
- Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statement for both statutory and management purposes; and other management reporting (such as relevant schedules and financial analysis required by the Group Controller, CFO or BU)
- Provides audit support during interim and year-end financial audit
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (Certified Public Accountant, a plus)
- 3–5 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting from an SSC/BPO industry
- Preferably with Oracle experience
- Logistics and shipping industry experience, a plus
- Knowledge in GAAP to ensure true and fair representation of the books
- Ability to perform analytical review of the financial statements
- Strong understanding of local GAAP; knowledge on audit engagement leading to sign-off and submission of financial statements
- Knowledge of major taxes (corporate income tax, withholding tax, and value-added tax); knowledge in providing tax audit requirements
- Effective communication with relevant stakeholders/counterparts
- Ability to articulate thoughts/ideas/issues in an effective manner to drive results
- Time management and prioritization to manage conflicting priorities and business outcomes
