Job summary

Avensys Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Philippines to own the month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting for a fast-paced, global business. You will partner with Finance, Operations, and other teams to drive improvement and ensure control compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in GL/FR, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with Oracle or ERP systems plus advanced Excel. CPA is a plus; CPA pursuit welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in GL and Financial Reporting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close processes.
• Experience with Oracle or ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Senior Accountant with strong General Accounting/ Ledger and Financial Reporting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. What You'll Own

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Review, approve, and post complex journal entries, accruals, allocations, and reclassifications.
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and variance investigations.
• Analyze financial results, identify risks or unusual trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and management reporting packages.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Collaboration & Business Partnership

• Partner with Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen financial controls.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Support finance transformation initiatives and contribute to operational excellence across the accounting function.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business discipline.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or General Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proven ability to perform financial analysis, investigate variances, and solve complex accounting issues.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

It's a Bonus If You Have

• CPA certification or is actively pursuing your CPA qualification.
• Experience in the payments, credit card processing, fintech, banking, or financial services industry.
• Exposure to ERP implementations, finance transformation, automation initiatives, or process improvement projects.
