JOB SUMMARY
The General Accountant oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting team and ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial records. The role requires strong leadership, technical accounting competence, working knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), and mastery of tax regulations under the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data, maintaining internal controls, and supporting statutory and management reporting requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and validate general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Review and ensure timely filing of BIR returns (VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, etc.) in compliance with the Tax Code and BIR regulations.
- Oversee submissions to government agencies (SEC, LGU, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IG when relevant to accounting)
- Supervise and guide accounting member in daily tasks.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
- Strengthen the Internal control environment by ensuring proper documentation, approval flows, and segregation of duties.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by senior management
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Finance, or any related courses is preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years of solid accounting experience in a accounting firm
- Advanced knowledge of PFRS, BIR compliance systems (eFPS, eBRForms)
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite. QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, financial modeling is a plus]
- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
