EY GDS – Assurance FAAS – Manager – Enhanced corporate accounting and reporting (ECRA) – Technical Accounting is seeking an experienced professional to provide advisory services on GAAP conversions, accounting policy support, new standards implementation, and IFRS/US GAAP disclosures for global clients across sectors.

The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, project leadership, and collaboration with onshore teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 6–10 years post-qualification in Assurance.
• At least 3+ years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality of service delivery on FAAS engagements.
• Direct daily progress of fieldwork and inform supervisors of engagement status.
• Deliver timely client requests and manage expectations for deliverables.
• Explain critical success factors to the engagement team.
• Work with onshore engagement teams to deliver work to clients.
• Apply accounting standards to complex client situations with professional judgment.
• Coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams for US GAAP/IFRS pronouncements.
• Provide research assistance and industry benchmarking.
• Contribute to practice development, thought leadership, and client growth.

EY GDS – Assurance FAAS – Manager – Enhanced corporate accounting and reporting (ECRA) – Technical Accounting

We’re looking for an incumbent who is competent enough to provide advisory services including accounting support on technical and special matters such as GAAP conversion, accounting policy support, new accounting standard implementation (end‑to‑end), and disclosure support for IFRS/US GAAP. The role will involve working with top global clients across a variety of markets and industry sectors.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage quality of service delivery.
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork and informing supervisors of engagement status.
• Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports.
• Explain the client’s critical success factors to the engagement team.
• Work directly with the onshore engagement team to deliver work to onshore clients.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., EY FAAS Policy Manual) and apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations.
• Identify engagement and client service issues; research and benchmark client data to industry data.
• Apply independent and objective professional judgement in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams to provide research assistance on U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of special accounting matters, new accounting pronouncements, and technology‑oriented solutions driven by accounting expertise.
• Customize each presentation to the acquisition’s specific attributes.
• Work on a variety of corporate finance transactions from initial client pitches to transaction closing.
• Receive direction from the Manager, Senior Manager and Partner.
• Maintain a relationship approach with senior stakeholders, interpreting feedback on key business developments or risks and understanding the client’s marketplace to address their needs.
• Keep abreast of pertinent industry, regulatory and business practices, driving oversight of regulatory adherence.
• Initiate ongoing improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions.
• Co‑ordinate activities between small teams on projects to deliver tasks, including providing guidance and feedback to junior team members.
• Undertake practice development activities including contributing to thought‑leadership pieces, running industry events, delivering training, or managing team communications.
• Contribute to business development activities to identify and research opportunities on new or existing clients.
• Contribute to the growth of the practice by providing input to EY points of view, development of solutions, engagement tools and enablers.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Good understanding of IFRS/US/UK GAAP and International auditing standards.
• Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g., business combinations, consolidation, share‑based payments, financial instruments).
• Capacity to coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams for research assistance on U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements.
• Primary responsibility for project management, ensuring relevant information flow and coordination among cross‑functional team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills.
• Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary.
• Experience in accounting and regulatory support for change and special matters, white‑paper writing, and comprehensive technical accounting guidance.
• Skills in preparing financial statements, accounting policies and governance, accounting processes and audit support.

Professional Experience

• Experience working in an advisory role.
• Managed a team of 10+ people.
• Advanced skills in technical accounting matters, white papers on significant issues such as consolidation, IFRS 15, 16, etc.
• Hands‑on consulting experience at a Big‑4 or top‑tier consulting firm.

To Qualify for the Role

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• 6–10 years post‑qualification in Assurance, including at least 3+ years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience.
