Job summary

EY is seeking an Assurance – Staff FAAS (Record to Report) to support timely and high quality financial close processes under IFRS/US GAAP knowledge. You will work on journal entries, monthly/quarterly closings, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations and broader GL tasks while coordinating with senior staff and managers.

The role requires strong accounting foundations, ability to research standards, and collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree or professional qualification (IFRS/US GAAP exposure preferred).
• 1–3 years of relevant experience including entity/BU reporting and close processes.

Responsibilities

• Book journal entries and manage monthly close.
• Perform quarterly and annual closings and financial reporting.
• Handle fixed assets capitalisation, maintenance, and reconciliations.
• Do intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Perform GL reconciliations and ensure KPI/SLA adherence.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and provide SOPs/training materials.
• Research client inquiries and stay updated on standards.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for incumbents who are responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per project requirements for our FAAS team and possess good accounting knowledge under IFRS/US GAAP. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of period‑end close, general accounting and financial reporting activities.

You will execute tasks with increasing autonomy, apply sound judgment within defined parameters, and support junior colleagues. You will anticipate and identify risks within engagements, share issues with senior members, and ensure work is of high quality and reviewed by the next‑level reviewer.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Journal entries creation and booking
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books
• Fixed assets capitalisation, maintenance and reconciliations
• Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• General Ledger reconciliations
• Ensure adherence to KPIs and SLA
• Receive direction from Senior and Manager
• Coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
• Variance reporting & analytical review
• Support Seniors and Managers in building SOPs and other end‑user training materials
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork and informing Supervisors of engagement status
• Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies and apply this knowledge to moderately difficult or complex client situations

Skills and attributes for success

• Basic knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP, UK GAAP
• Experience in business unit / entity level reporting
• Intercompany accounting experience
• Fixed assets accounting and its capitalisation
• Consolidation and compilation support
• Financial statement close process support
• Accounting for leases
• Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies

Ideally, you’ll also

• Have understanding of SAP S4/Hana public or private cloud
• Show MS‑Excel knowledge (Pivot, VLOOKUP, macros)
• Have IT skills in ERP (PeopleSoft/SAP/Oracle)
• Possess knowledge of data analytics/visualisation tools (advantage)
• Be flexible and willing to travel on short notice
• Exhibit good communication, interpersonal, analytical skills and a proactive approach

What we look for

• B.com, BBA, CA (Inter), CWA (Inter), ACCA (UK), DIP (IFR) or MBA from a reputed institute
• 1‑3 years relevant experience including entity/BU reporting, financial statement close process support and MIS reporting
