KamelMedia is seeking a Furniture CAD & Technical Documentation Specialist to develop and maintain complete technical-document packages for ready-to-assemble furniture. The role converts designs and production requirements into precise manufacturing drawings, assemblies, schedules, and retailer-facing documents.
You will collaborate with product development, engineering, production, costing, and quality teams, handling junior to senior levels based on depth of experience and independence.
The Furniture CAD & Technical Documentation Specialist will develop and maintain the complete technical-document package supporting ready-to-assemble furniture products. The role converts product designs, engineering inputs, and production requirements into accurate manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, component schedules, and retailer-facing measurement documents. The successful candidate will work closely with product development, engineering, production, costing, and quality teams. Candidates may be considered at junior, intermediate, or senior level based on technical depth, furniture-manufacturing experience, and ability to work independently.
Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for furniture assemblies and individual panels.
Produce panel specifications showing dimensions, material thickness, hole positions, drilling depths and diameters, grooves, edge banding, and grain direction.
Maintain native, editable source files and issue controlled PDF documentation for production use.
Map drawing information into the client's PDMT-based structure or an approved equivalent workflow.
Create and revise colour, market, hardware, and product variants while maintaining drawing accuracy and revision control.
Create clear, consumer-facing assembly manuals using exploded isometric views and sequenced assembly steps.
Prepare component inventories, hardware call-outs, quantities, safety icons, load-capacity information, and anti-tip or wall-fixing instructions.
Prepare cutting lists, hardware schedules, purchased-parts lists, bills of materials, and related production documentation.
Verify drawings against approved designs, prototypes, physical samples, engineering inputs, and production feedback.
Perform structured quality checks before release and correct discrepancies identified during pilot builds or production.
Degree, diploma, or technical certification in industrial design, mechanical engineering, drafting technology, furniture design, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline.
Practical experience producing detailed CAD drawings and technical documentation for manufactured products.
Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, drilling patterns, component relationships, and drawing conventions.
Ability to interpret product concepts, sketches, existing drawings, bills of materials, and production specifications.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage revisions without introducing inconsistencies.
Professional written and spoken English. Danish-language experience is advantageous but not required.
