We are seeking to add top talents to join our high-performing and growing Accounting and Finance Team. This position will play a critical role as we expand our brokerage business, tap into new markets and provide innovative avenues for securities trading in the Philippines.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of financial reports, including but not limited to:
- Trial balance (cash, investments, prepayments and payables)
- Income statement
- Partners’ capital accounts (capital activities, allocation of profit and loss)
- Rate of returns
- Monitor movement and balance of investments, including:
- Portfolio accounting, verification of investment pricing or valuations
- Manual calculation of long‑term/short‑term realized gains, investment balances
- Review of corporate actions, stock dividends received
- Accrual of interest for loans/interest‑bearing investments
- Calculate management fees and incentive fees.
- Ensure that all income and expense items are recognized/accrued on the appropriate period.
- Prepare different kinds of reconciliation, including Broker, Custodian and Bank reconciliation.
- Assess compliance with accounting principles and BIR regulations.
- Review of BIR Tax Returns to save on taxes and avoid errors that may lead to BIR assessments.
- Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for improvement:
- Assist in coordinating annual audit of client’s GAAP/IFRS financial statements including footnotes and disclosures.
- Correspondence with the auditors regarding any concern/issues.
- Assist, provide necessary financial reports and correspondence to the designated Associated Person (AP) in terms of regulatory compliance requirements and issues regarding SRC Rules, PSE Trading Rules and Regulations, CMIC Implementing Rules, AMLA and other regulatory government agencies.
- Perform detailed review of work papers, analysis, reports, reconciliation and any work papers prepared by the AR, Receipts & Taxation Associate, the AP & Disbursement Associate and other accounting & finance staff.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to the accounting team and staff.
- Monitor the team’s deliverable, delegate tasks or workload assignments.
- Correspondence with clients/key management personnel regarding any concern/issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA license is a must.
- At least five to seven (5–7) years of working knowledge in accounting principles and practices, with prior experience in fund accounting in a brokerage/mutual fund firm.
- Prior work experience in an auditing firm is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the banking and financial services industries and asset management products is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of trust and investment regulations and asset management industry trends is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SFI software (WinStockSS.Net).
- Familiarity with trading systems (PSEConnect, Bloomberg, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to details, ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
