Job summary

Koyn is seeking an experienced accountant in the Philippines to manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close across multiple entities and currencies. You will prepare VAT calculations and collaborate with UK/UAE/Canada accountants to ensure timely statutory filings.

The role requires hands-on experience with UK VAT, intercompany transactions, and proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, plus strong Excel skills. Fluency in English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, including recording supplier invoices and preparing payments.
• Manage accounts receivable, including issuing customer invoices and following up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms, investigating discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate ledgers across multiple entities and currencies.
• Complete month-end reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Coordinate with UK, UAE and Canada accountants to support statutory filings.
• Maintain reporting/compliance calendars and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare monthly management reports and P&L/balance sheet statements.
• Demonstrate hands-on UK accounting experience and VAT handling.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, including recording supplier invoices, reconciling statements and preparing payments for approval.
• Manage accounts receivable, including issuing customer invoices, allocating receipts and following up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and supporting documentation across multiple entities and currencies.
• Complete month-end reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and aged debtor and creditor reports.
• Prepare VAT calculations, reconciliations and supporting schedules, coordinating with external accountants on returns and submission deadlines.
• Coordinate with accountants in the UK, UAE and Canada to provide complete records, resolve queries and support timely submission of statutory accounts and tax filings.
• Maintain a reporting and compliance calendar, ensuring all required information is provided ahead of deadlines.
• Prepare monthly management reports/cash flow statements/ p&l and balance sheet
• Previous hands-on experience in UK accounting and bookkeeping.
• Strong working knowledge of UK VAT, including VAT treatment of transactions and preparation of VAT returns.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple entities, currencies and deadlines accurately.
• Strong written and spoken English, with the confidence to coordinate independently with external accountants.
• A relevant qualification in accounting or finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting businesses in the UAE and/or Canada.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT and Canadian GST/HST.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, completed or in progress.
