Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking an experienced Salesforce Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software within an Agile squad. You will refactor existing code, prototype new technologies, and collaborate with Product Owners to meet business needs.

Mentoring interns and engineers is encouraged as part of a supportive team. The role requires deep Salesforce expertise, including Apex, Visualforce, LWC, and integration using REST/SOAP.

Qualifications

4–7 years of experience as a Salesforce developer or full‑stack engineer.
Salesforce Administrator and Platform Developer I certifications required.
Experience with Salesforce core concepts, declarative features, Apex, Visualforce, and LWC.
Experience with HTML, CSS3, JS, REST/SOAP integrations, and agile teams.

Responsibilities

Refactor code to improve reliability and performance.
Prototype emerging technologies and conduct PoTs to innovate.
Mentor interns and junior engineers.
Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders in Agile environments.
Coordinate with squads to deliver innovative solutions.
Establish development, testing, and delivery best practices.

You will have experience in designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving software applications as a member of an Agile squad.

Position Responsibilities:

Refactor existing code to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies
Conduct a Proof of Technology to innovate and incorporate new technology
Have opportunities to mentor intern students and associate engineers
Collaborate closely with Product Owners and other stakeholders in an Agile environment
Work closely with other squads to drive innovative solutions to meet business needs
Work closely with software engineers to establish best practices for development, testing, and delivery

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 4-7 years of experience as a Salesforce Developer or Salesforce full-stack software engineer
Clear understanding of Salesforce platform best practices, coding standards, design guidelines, and Salesforce Governor Limits
Expertise in Salesforce core concepts including objects, fields, relationships, and record types
Expertise in declarative Salesforce features such as Workflow, Process Builder, Approval Process, and Validation Rules
Expertise in Apex programming language including classes, triggers, and controllers
Expertise in Visualforce, Aura components, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and SOSL
Experience with frontend and backend web technologies such as HTML, CSS3, jQuery, XML, and JSON
Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST, SOAP, and Bulk APIs
Experience working in Agile Scrum methodologies as part of an Agile team
Proficiency with Git or other version control systems
Salesforce Certified Administrator credential
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I credential
Experience with Lightning Components including Aura and Lightning Web Components (LWC)
Knowledge of Fortify and WebInspect security tools
