Job description

We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our product and AI engineering team and help build the next generation of our veterinary care and analytics platform.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end development role covering frontend, backend, mobile, and AI-enabled cloud infrastructure.

You'll collaborate with product designers, AI engineers, and cloud architects to design, build, and scale intelligent systems that empower veterinary professionals and pet owners. If you thrive in fast-paced environments where innovation meets real-world impact, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Development

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the entire technology stack from rich client interfaces to robust APIs and data layers.
• Deliver end-to-end functionality: from React/React Native frontends to Python/Node.js backend services and AWS-based deployment.

Frontend & Mobile Engineering

• Build responsive, accessible UIs using React + Next.js and mobile experiences with React Native.
• Implement reusable components, modern UI/UX patterns, and responsive layouts using Tailwind CSS or equivalent frameworks.
• Develop scalable APIs and microservices using Node.js (Express/Nest) or Python (FastAPI/Django).
• Implement secure authentication, data validation, and efficient business logic for features like appointments, electronic health records, and diagnostics.
• Integrate with internal AI services, cloud functions, and external APIs (e.g., payments, notifications).

Database & Systems Design

Design and optimize relational or hybrid data models (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Aurora).

Collaborate with data scientists to support analytics pipelines and AI data ingestion workflows.

• Work closely with the AI/ML team to integrate model inference endpoints (e.g., image classification, NLP diagnostics) into production systems.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, SQS, SNS, RDS, SageMaker).
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS CDK) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline).
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability through proper monitoring, alerting, and automated testing.

Participate in code reviews, enforce clean code practices, and document key technical decisions.

Collaborate in an agile environment with designers, AI engineers, QA, and stakeholders.

Research and propose improvements in architecture, AI integration, and developer workflows.

Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3+ years in full-stack web or product development (startup or SaaS background preferred).

Technical Proficiency

Backend: Node.js (Express/Nest) and/or Python (FastAPI/Django).

Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent, with strong query and schema design skills.

• Cloud & DevOps: AWS (ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS), CI/CD, Docker, and Linux administration.
• AI Integration (Preferred): Familiarity with Python AI ecosystem (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face) and deploying inference APIs on the cloud.
• Security & Architecture: Understanding of authentication (OAuth/JWT), API security, and scalable microservice design.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and debugging abilities.

Excellent communication and teamworkable to collaborate across product, AI, and design teams.

Proactive learner who stays updated with emerging technologies in AI, web, and cloud computing.
