Job summary

TELUS Digital is seeking Forward Deployed Automation Engineers to build and embed automation on the operations floor, partnering with Workforce Management and Operations to identify inefficiencies and rapidly deploy solutions. You will prototype, test with SMEs, and iterate until production-ready, while also enabling teams to create their own automations.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in PowerShell and automation frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, data querying, and data pipelines.
• Experience with API integration and service-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud-based automation.
• Knowledge of AI-driven automation concepts (LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI).

Responsibilities

• Build high-impact automations to eliminate manual work and improve operational efficiency.
• Operate as a Forward Deployed Engineer on the operations floor with SMEs and teams.
• Develop Tier 1-2 automations including scripts, workflows, and data integrations.
• Discover and map operational processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with operations leaders and analysts to iterate solutions.
• Mentor teams in automation practices and promote continuous improvement.
• Build business cases quantifying ROI and efficiency gains.
• Present solutions and outcomes to leadership with demos and documentation.
• Ensure reliability of automation through QA, sandbox testing, and SME validation.
