Duties and Responsibilities
1. Planning and Design
- Select appropriate formwork systems (conventional, modular, or system formwork) suitable for site conditions.
- Ensure all formwork designs comply with project specifications, local building codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with Rebar and Concrete or Site Engineers for constructability and implementation.
2. Site Execution
- Supervise daily formwork activities including installation, alignment, and dismantling.
- Ensure proper sequencing, bracing, and shoring of formwork during operations.
- Monitor manpower productivity and proper utilization of materials and equipment.
- Provide hands‑on technical guidance to foremen, carpenters, and formwork crews.
3. Quality and Safety Control
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure formwork stability, alignment, and quality prior to concrete pouring.
- Identify and resolve on‑site issues related to formwork.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Minimize risks and prevent rework through proper checking and coordination.
- Ensure that all formworks are complete and in good condition before and after use and up to project completion.
- Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of the formworks.
4. Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with Project Managers, QA/QC, and other trades for smooth workflow.
- Monitor progress of formwork activities against project schedule.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports and maintain documentation of formwork activities.
- Track material usage and recommend cost‑saving measures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) – preferred
- Structural Engineering or related field is acceptable
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC) required
Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in formworks and site construction
- With actual hands‑on experience in building or infrastructure projects
Technical Competencies (Know‑how)
- Strong knowledge of formwork systems, scaffolding, and shoring methods
- Ability to read and interpret structural and construction drawings
- Basic knowledge of CAD is an advantage (not purely design‑focused)
- Familiar with local construction standards and safety regulations
Skills
- Strong leadership and site supervision skills
- Good problem‑solving and decision‑making ability on‑site
- Effective communication with workers and project team
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced construction environment
