Job summary

Cooee Inc. Career is hiring a Fire Systems Draftsperson to convert designs and site markups into accurate shop drawings, Revit models, and as-built drawings for sprinkler, hydrant, and alarm systems in Australian standards contexts.

You will work with Design/Drafting Lead, Major/Minor Project Managers, and the service team. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in drafting/building design, strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, and familiarity with NCC/AS1100.

Qualifications

Open to candidates with 1–3 years of drafting or building design experience.
Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Revit, modelling fire protection services.
Knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards.
Working knowledge of AS1100 series.

Responsibilities

Draft fire protection drawings fromDesign/Drafting Lead's designs and mark-ups, including layouts and diagrams.
Draft sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire detection and alarm systems to NCC and project specs.
Create block plans for PIRs, valve sets and hydrant boosters for new and existing sites.
Produce as-built drawings from site mark-ups and handover packages.
Prepare drawing packages for building certifier, fire brigade and client submissions.
Check drawings against specs and architectural/structural backgrounds and resolve conflicts.
Build Revit models of fire protection services per BIM plan.
Run clash detection in Navisworks or platform and resolve clashes.
Attend coordination meetings with BIM managers and head contractors.
Upload models/drawings to Autodesk Construction Cloud or Aconex.
Assist with hydraulic calculations by preparing models in sprinkler design software.
Conduct site surveys and measure-ups for conditions, heights, obstructions.
Prepare equipment schedules and material lists from drawings.
Prepare preliminary layouts for tenders and proposals.
Produce quantity takeoffs from tender drawings.
Prepare mark-ups and sketches for variations and defect quotes.
Maintain an up-to-date drawing register with revision control.
Develop block plans for fire indicator panels and hydrant boosters.
Compile and update submission drawing packages for certifiers/clients.
Ensure files adhere to document control policies.
