Job summary

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized Philippine law school.
• Active Bar passer and valid IBP member.
• 4–6 years post-bar legal experience, incl. 2 years in qualified Philippine OLP institutions; fintech/lending industry experience is mandatory.
• Proven independent liaison with SEC and AMLC for business matters.
• Solid knowledge of RA 9474, AMLC regulations and SEC memorandum circulars.
• Familiar with external law firm management and cross-institutional legal project cooperation.
• Proficient in written and spoken English; Filipino language skill is a plus.
• Strong risk awareness, independent judgment and cross-departmental coordination capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory & Government Liaison: act as primary contact for SEC and AMLC, managing daily regulatory communications and coordination.
• Oversee full SEC compliance, including lending permit applications, amendments, annual reports and disclosures.
• Manage AMLC compliance work, including CTR/STR submissions and inquiry responses.
• Draft, review and standardize core legal documents (loan agreements, promissory notes, disclosures, contracts).
• Develop internal policies for data privacy (NPC), consumer protection and fair debt collection.
• Handle board resolutions and corporate secretarial records maintenance.
• Manage loan default-related pre-legal collections, small claims and civil litigation.
• Advise management on legal risks related to interest rate policies and new lending products.
• Oversee external law firm cooperation: select, supervise, review deliverables, control legal costs.
• Summarize operational legal risks and support compliance system optimization.
