Job summary

Chooks to Go Inc. in the Philippines seeks an experienced accounting leader to oversee the general accounting department and ensure timely month-end and year-end closes. You will manage the general ledger, approve complex entries, and liaise with external auditors to provide schedules and explanations.

The role requires 3–8 years in accounting or auditing, GAAP proficiency, and strong Excel/ERP skills to improve workflows and accuracy under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Finance, or a related Business field
• 3 to 8 years of experience in general accounting or auditing
• Proven experience leading a team, delegating tasks, or acting as a lead reviewer for junior staff
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Netsuite, SAP, Oracle)
• Focus on detail to ensure the reliability of financial reporting
• Ability to maintain performance and accuracy while managing a high-volume workload under tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the general accounting department, ensuring the integrity of financial data and the timely completion of the month-end and yearend close process.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries and account reconciliations are accurate and complaint with GAAP.
• Reviewing and approving complex journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations prepared by staff.
• Preparing or assisting in the preparation of monthly, quartely, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
• Serving as a primary point of contract for external auditors, providing schedules, workpapers, and explanations for account balances.
• Identifying inefficiencies in accounting workflows and implementing better practices or automation tools.
