What you'll be doing
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the finance and accounting team, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion
- Monitor and review financial transactions, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger entries for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Reconcile bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records on a regular basis
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Process payroll transactions and verify accuracy of employee compensation records
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and support their professional development
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems for all financial records
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to facilitate financial audits and reviews
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is highly desirable
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and senior management
- Leadership and supervisory capabilities, with experience in training and coaching staff
- Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and financial compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity
