Job summary

NIRAS Asia Manila Inc. is seeking a Finance Specialist to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner with business units to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.

You will lead month-end close, handle tax and audit matters, monitor cash and payroll, and drive improvements in controls. The role supports APAC offices and requires solid accounting knowledge, payroll experience, and proficiency with Excel and Maconomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role; experience with consultants is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, payroll processes, and tax regulations.
• Experience supporting APAC offices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and MS Excel; Maconomy is a plus.

About the role

The Finance Specialist handles the day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners with business units to support decision-making and regulatory compliance. This role leads month-end close activities, manages tax and audit matters, monitors cash and liquidity, and drives improvements in financial controls and processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and analyze financial reports and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and monitor the Daily Cash Position report to support effective cash flow management.
• Act as a business partner to various business units by providing financial insights, guidance, and decision-support analysis.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory agencies including SEC, BIR, Municipal City Treasurer, and other local government offices.
• Resolve tax issues and address audit findings raised by BIR and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Prepare tax computations, documentation, and filings in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Prepare P&L variance analysis and provide commentary to support management reporting and strategic planning.
• Process end-to-end payroll including data validation, payroll runs, reconciliations, statutory deductions, and payroll reporting.
• Provide support to APAC offices (e.g., Taiwan, Indonesia), ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably familiar with working with consultants.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and tax regulations.
• Experience supporting regional APAC offices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with Maconomy is a plus.
