Job summary

evoke is seeking a capable accounting professional to support its finance function, working with the COE Controllership team to deliver accurate financial information and analysis for decision making.

You will prepare journals, perform reconciliations, assist in statutory and consolidated financial statements, and support audits, collaborating across functions to meet regulatory requirements and drive performance.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy or related course; CPA is preferred.
  • CPA qualification highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post journals and submit for approval.
  • Maintain reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Perform Balance Sheet and TB reconciliations as assigned by the Senior Team Manager.
  • Maintain schedules, account reconciliations and perform accounts analysis as assigned by the Senior Team Manager.
  • Assist in preparing statutory and consolidated financial statements and disclosures, ensuring regulatory alignment.
  • Prepare technical accounting work papers for audit and management review.
  • Provide audit support with required documentation and meetings.
  • Collaborate with the COE Controllership Senior Team Manager to set daily, weekly, monthly and annual KPIs.

Job Description

The role will play a pivotal role in supporting the Company’s finance function. Within the role, you will work closely with the COE Controllership team, responsible for supporting decision‑making processes by providing accurate financial information and analysis to various stakeholders. Your expertise in financial reporting will contribute to the financial health and strategic direction of the Company.

What you will be doing
Core responsibilities
  • Prepare, create, and post journals and submit for approval.
  • Maintain organised and up‑to‑date records of reconciliation activities, including supporting documentation and evidence.
  • Perform Balance Sheet and TB reconciliations assigned by the Senior Team Manager.
  • Maintain schedules, account reconciliations and perform accounts analysis as assigned by the Senior Team Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely statutory and consolidated financial statements and disclosures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements by collaborating across functions.
  • Have knowledge of a variety of ad hoc technical accounting issues; prepare technical accounting work papers; prepare these for audit and present them to management.
  • Provide support to Senior Controllership Specialists for all internal and external audit activities through the provision of required documentation and attendance of necessary meetings.
  • Collaborate with the COE Controllership Senior Team Manager to set daily, weekly, monthly and annual performance targets and KPIs for the team.
Ad hoc responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate continuous professional development, keeping abreast of all internal, legislative, and industry best practice.
  • Ensure appropriate interpretation and implementation of required changes in a timely manner.
  • Support all internal and external audit activities through the provision of required documentation when necessary.
  • The above accountabilities and responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the jobholder may be required to undertake additional duties that are consistent with the level and grading of the role.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of BS Accountancy or any related course.
  • CPA qualified.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in the field of accounting, finance, or audit (if non‑CPA).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the field of accounting, finance, or audit (if CPA).
  • Highly accurate and detail‑oriented in processes undertaken and work produced.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience preparing management information reports.
  • Exposure to international working environments.
  • Knowledgeable in using finance systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Thrives in a small team, but also in a larger group environment.
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently without the need for much guidance.
    • Recognise potential issues and make suitable recommendations to resolve the challenge.
    • Multitask.
    • Thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
