The Operations Finance Analyst provides financial and operational analysis to improve manufacturing efficiency, product costing, resource utilization, and profitability.
The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Planning, and Finance to translate shop-floor performance into actionable financial insights. The successful candidate will analyze production cycles, yields, labor productivity, factory overhead, capacity utilization, and inventory to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
Analyze production cycle times, throughput rates, and setup or changeover times to identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor and audit production yields, raw-material usage, scrap rates, and rework costs.
Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to investigate and reduce material and process variances.
Perform standard-costing analysis and determine the financial impact of deviations from established production standards.
Conduct detailed Material Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, and Labor Efficiency Variance analyses.
Identify the operational causes of unfavorable cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and maintain financial models reflecting machine capacity, labor availability, production constraints, and expected output.
Evaluate capacity utilization and its effect on unit cost, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure that Master Production Schedules support gross-margin targets and cash-flow requirements.
Assess the financial implications of production plans, volume changes, scheduling decisions, and capacity constraints.
Model the financial trade-offs between localized sourcing and overseas procurement.
Quantify the total cost of ownership, including purchase cost, freight, inventory carrying cost, lead time, and production risk.
Monitor standard versus actual labor hours for manufacturing lots, production lines, or work centers.
Identify bottlenecks, idle time, productivity gaps, and excessive overtime.
Analyze the cost and operational impact of manpower deployment and shift arrangements.
Support Production leaders in improving direct-labor utilization and controlling overtime costs.
Analyze fixed and variable factory overhead absorption.
Ensure that product costs accurately reflect the resources consumed during production.
Investigate over- or under-absorption of factory overhead and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
Monitor and analyze Work-in-Progress inventory across production stages.
Identify excessive WIP, production imbalances, slow-moving materials, and areas where working capital is unnecessarily tied up.
Recommend appropriate WIP levels that support production continuity without creating excess inventory.
Partner with buyers, planners, and Material Requirements Planning teams to optimize raw-material and safety-stock levels.
Analyze inventory turnover, material availability, supplier lead times, and the risk of production downtime.
Support inventory reconciliation, cycle-count analysis, and investigation of manufacturing-related inventory variances.
Prepare timely manufacturing cost, productivity, yield, capacity, inventory, and variance reports.
Translate complex financial findings into clear operational recommendations for Plant Managers, Shift Supervisors, Engineers, and Planners.
Develop dashboards and performance indicators that connect shop-floor results with cost, margin, and cash-flow objectives.
Support budgeting, forecasting, standard-cost updates, and operational planning.
Participate in continuous-improvement and cost-optimization initiatives.
Maintain complete supporting records and ensure readiness for financial and operational audits.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or another related quantitative field.
Three to five years of relevant experience in corporate finance, manufacturing costing, operations finance, or industrial analytics.
Manufacturing experience is required.
Strong understanding of standard costing, Bills of Materials, production routings, cost centers, manufacturing variances, and overhead absorption.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and driver-based operational modeling.
Hands-on experience using ERP manufacturing and costing modules such as SAP PP/CO, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent systems.
Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning systems and manufacturing inventory controls.
Strong analytical, financial-modeling, problem-solving, and data-interpretation skills.
Able to convert operational data into practical recommendations and measurable financial improvements.
Strong interpersonal and business-partnering skills, with the ability to work effectively with Plant Managers, Production Supervisors, Engineers, Quality teams, Buyers, and Planners.
Comfortable spending time on the production floor to understand actual processes and validate operational data.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple analyses and deadlines.
Willing to work onsite in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
