The Role
This role is responsible for the financial management of the organization, including finance and accounting statutory, corporate, and regulatory obligations through the maintenance of accurate financial records, strong financial controls, and reliable financial information. As a member of the leadership team, the Finance Manager acts as a business partner to the General Manager and leads the finance function to drive financial performance, cost efficiency, and governance to support the achievement of the organization’s business and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
Accounting, Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records in compliance with IFRS, Philippines law, and Svitzer GAAP
- Prepare and submit internal and external reporting (MS Dynamics D365 and OneStream)
- Prepare and finalise statutory financial statements and lead annual audits
- Ensure tax compliance including preparation/review of returns and regulatory filings
- Maintain robust financial processes and internal controls with documented evidence
Finance Operations
- Perform and oversee daily finance operations including vendor, crew, and employee payments
- Manage and optimise working capital and maintain strong banking relationships
- Ensure timely invoicing and follow‑up on receivables to minimise bad debt
- Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset related to cost saving opportunities
- Lead preparation of annual budgets and monthly full year estimates with variance analysis
- Deliver clear financial storylines highlighting risks and opportunities
- Perform cost reviews and recommend actions to improve efficiency
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis for investments and business development
Finance Business Partnering & Leadership
- Act as proactive business partner to the General Manager providing financial advice
- Manage and prepare for board meetings and shareholder updates
- Lead and promote a culture of compliance, integrity, and cost‑consciousness
- Lead, coach and develop the finance team
Required qualifications & experience:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or relevant field
- Minimum 5-8 years of senior finance experience with management responsibility as team leader or head of department
- Working as part of an international team
- Strong financial acumen with exposure to IFRS, tax regulations, governance and risk & control frameworks
- Proven track record in accounting and statutory reporting up to finalisation of financial statements
- Budget planning, cost management, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Leading external audits and ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory obligations
- Extensive knowledge of Philippine taxation and regulations (BIR, LGU, BOI, BSP, BOC, MARINA)
- Hands‑on experience in ERP/finance systems (MS Dynamics and OneStream exposure advantageous)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in written and spoken Tagalog and English
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience selling cybersecurity managed services or professional services to Philippine financial institutions
- Prior industry experience in towage, shipping, or transportation
- Active membership or participation in Philippine cybersecurity and risk management communities
- Familiarity with other finance systems and automation tools
