About the Role

As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business performance by delivering insightful financial reporting, commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous process improvement.

You will work closely with the CFO, General Manager – Finance, Executive Director, and cross-functional leaders to improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, streamline processes, and support strategic business initiatives.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Insightful Reporting & Analysis

• Serve as the business subject matter expert for financial reporting, business intelligence, and performance analysis.

• Develop and maintain management reports, dashboards, and financial analyses using systems such as SAP, Phocas (BI), Korber (WMS), Shopify, Freshdesk, and other business platforms.

• Prepare monthly management reports and executive-level financial analysis for senior leadership.

• Support reporting across manufacturing, distribution, project management, commercial operations, and other business functions.

• Analyze business performance, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

• Develop a detailed understanding of business costs and key cost drivers.

• Prepare project cost and revenue reports against approved budgets and project estimates.

• Deliver timely ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.

• Assist with financial reporting and analysis for tender submissions and commercial opportunities.

Profitability, Budgeting & Commercial Performance

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Develop and monitor KPIs that support business objectives and customer requirements.

• Monitor pricing, costing, master data, suppliers, customers, projects, and business models to maximize profitability.

• Identify revenue leakage, financial risks, and opportunities for margin improvement.

• Champion financial performance improvement initiatives across the business.

• Partner with business leaders to identify operational improvements and drive better commercial outcomes.

• Ensure timely and accurate project billing following project milestones and customer deliverables.

Process Improvement & Business Transformation

• Lead management accounting activities while supporting financial accounting operations.

• Drive finance transformation through automation, workflow optimization, and systems improvements.

• Develop financial controls, reporting frameworks, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Improve processes relating to sales, profitability, cash flow management, customer claims, and supplier claims.

• Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for business improvement projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement scalable and efficient finance processes.

Compliance & Financial Governance

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.

• Support internal and external audits and implement agreed corrective actions.

• Monitor financially significant processes and recommend improvements where required.

• Help maintain strong governance and business continuity through effective documentation, controls, and team capability.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Management Accounting, or Financial Analysis.

• Experience within eCommerce, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or product-based businesses is highly preferred.

• Proven experience delivering management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

• Experience managing finance activities across multiple entities or business units.

• Demonstrated success leading finance transformation, process improvements, or systems implementation projects.

• Experience partnering with senior leaders to improve commercial and financial performance.

Technical Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly regarded.

• Strong ERP experience (SAP preferred).

• Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Phocas or similar reporting platforms.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and business performance metrics.
