Job summary

Sotogrande Baguio Hotel is seeking an experienced accounting professional to administer and develop the hotel’s accounting function, ensuring strict adherence to the company’s policies and systems.

The role covers control over income, expenditures, cash flow, and assets, with responsibility for timely financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance across the front office, restaurant, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking, and effective decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily and recurring operations of the accounts department and preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure front office, restaurant cashiers, night auditors, stores and receiving clerks carry out their functions properly.
• Maintain daily accounting records in accordance with the uniform system of accounting or as modified for local needs.
• Provide financial data to support analysis and management decisions.
• Implement and monitor the company's credit policy and city ledger records.
• Pursue reduction of outstanding accounts and initiate settlements.
• Prepare monthly sales cost and payroll forecasts where applicable.
• Prepare annual financial budgets and submit to management.
• Maintain payroll records for the hotel.
• Authorize and participate in discarding capital equipment, fixtures, and materials.
• Train and develop staff in coordination with the training manager.
• Appraise subordinates' performance and ensure wage accounting for all staff.
• Ensure proper deposit of taxes and provident fund deductions with government.

Job Definition :

To administer, control & develop the accounting function of the Sotogrande Baguio Hotel based on the uniform system of accounts in the company, & to exercise complete control over income, expenditure, cash flow, fixed assets & movable assets of the Sotogrande Baguio Hotel in strict accordance with the company policies and systems. Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records of all expense accounts & income accounts

What you'll do:

1. Responsible for the daily and recurring operations of the accounts department and the preparation of required financial statements

2. To ensure that the front office and restaurant cashiers, night auditors, stores and receiving clerks carry out their functions properly

3. To maintain daily all Sotogrande Baguio Hotel accounting records in strict accordance with the uniform system of accounting in practice, or following the adjusted system of such accounting that may have been modified to suit local needs

4. To provide the financial data to carry out financial analysis of operations to assist the management to take corrective actions wherever necessary

5. Responsible for implementing the credit policy & decisions of the company & maintaining city ledger records

6. To make constant efforts to reduce the outstanding accounts by checking these accounts regularly and initiating action for their settlement

7. To prepare monthly forecasts on sales costs and payroll wherever applicable

8. To prepare annual financial budgets and submit them to the management

9. To maintain payroll records for the entire Sotogrande Baguio Hotel

10. To authorize and participate in the discarding of capital equipment, fixtures, and material

11. To train and develop his personal continuingly and for this purpose to coordinate with the training manager

12. To appraise the performance of his subordinates

13. To ensure wage accounting for the entire Sotogrande Baguio Hotel

14. To ensure the deposit of all taxes and provident fund deductions from employees, with the government

15. In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given on an occasional basis or daily basis by the immediate superior or the management.
