Job summary

PNB Capital and Investment Corporation in Metro Manila seeks an experienced Senior Manager in Accounting and Finance to lead the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and regulatory reporting. You will oversee reconciliation, internal controls, and audit processes to ensure timely, accurate financial information for management and stakeholders.

The role requires extensive knowledge of tax compliance, budgeting, and ERP systems, with a strong emphasis on leadership and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy; CPA required.
• At least 10 years in Accounting/Finance, with 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong experience in the preparation and review of Financial Statements, Management Reports, and Annual Audits.
• Extensive knowledge of BIR tax compliance, including VAT, Withholding Taxes, Income Tax, and tax audits.
• Experience in handling SEC and BSP reportorial and regulatory requirements.
• Strong background in budgeting, financial planning, cash flow management, and internal controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.
• Experience in financial services, lending, banking, investment, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve daily transactions and close books at year-end.

Job description

• Review and approve daily transactions, records transaction totals to controlling accounts in the general ledgers and closes books of accounts at year-end to ensure accurate and updated accounting records.
• Maintains an accurate, complete and up-to-date records of subsidiary and general ledgers to ensure ready financial information at all times.
• Ensures the systematic filing and safekeeping of the company’s daily transaction documents.
• Prepares financial reports to keep management informed on the financial condition and performance of the company to serve as bases for making sound decisions.
• Prepares the company’s annual budget allocations (operating and CAPEX) for approval by management.
• Monitors compliance with the approved operating and capital budget.
• Monitors compliance with tax policies and procedures.
• Recommends enhancements or revision of existing accounting system and procedures to facilitate accurate and timely generation of financial reports required by management, BSP, other regulatory bodies and the company’s stockholders.
• Reviews and monitors compliance to audit exceptions (accounting related).
• Procures business permits and licenses and remits tax payments/collections.
• Monitor the cash flow of the Company.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Management from time to time.
• Usual extra tasks assigned include: 1) Maintaining a financial model of various revenues and costs of the company, to help in managing and optimizing the company’s tax and investment decisions. 2) Has occasionally been asked to assist more pro-actively in execution of mandates, mainly in number-crunching tasks.
