Job summary

Living in a Bubble is seeking a Finance Controller to own the close, tax control, and management reporting for a multi-entity business with remote Philippines staff and Australian coordination. You will implement processes, oversee indirect tax across jurisdictions, and deliver consolidated P&L and KPI insights.

The role emphasizes analysis, judgement, and written controls, while the CEO retains final say on pricing, tax, and structure. Fully remote with external bookkeepers and advisors.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA qualified, with Big 4 audit or advisory background, or equivalent depth in industry.
• Multi-entity, multi-currency reporting — consolidating entities with different start dates, FX handling.
• Close discipline — calendar, working papers, reconciliations, variance tolerance, and external bookkeeper coordination.
• Indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions with external filings coordination.
• Ability to write executive summaries and build processes.
• Based in the Philippines, able to work as an independent contractor with overlap to Australian morning.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close calendar, quality bar, and data reconciliation across two entities.
• Manage indirect tax filings with multiple external firms and a tight filing calendar.
• Develop and unify management reporting: daily P&L, weekly sales, monthly P&L analysis, KPI scorecard.
• Analyze pricing, margins, landed cost, and channel contributions; provide recommendations; CEO decides.
• Maintain landed-cost refresh and cost uploads; build SOPs and access maps for audit readiness.
