Job summary

The Corporate Institute seeks a meticulous accounting and finance professional to oversee end-to-end financial processes for imports, domestic purchases, landed costs, and margin analysis. You will manage inventory valuation, COGS, and working capital, while coordinating with treasury and procurement teams to optimize cash flow and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting of direct imports and domestic purchases.
• Ensure accurate accounting of freight, transportation, clearing, handling, and other landed costs.
• Account for promotional schemes, trade discounts, rebates, and marketing support programs.
• Manage accounting for inventory shortages, damages, stock losses, and customs duty transactions.
• Prepare and analyze category-wise and brand-wise gross margin reports.
• Compute and validate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) on a monthly basis.
• Evaluate effectiveness of self-funded discount campaigns and promotional programs.
• Conduct variance analysis against AOP, Budget, Forecast, and Previous Year performance.
• Perform Forex Gain/Loss analysis covering: Sales, Cost of Goods Sold, Gross Margin impact.
• Generate actionable insights to improve profitability and business performance.
• Ensure inventory valuation under Weighted Average Cost methodology.
• Monitor category-level inventory performance against AOP targets and inventory days.
• Evaluate and report slow-moving and non-moving inventory as per approved SOP.
• Ensure accurate monthly valuation of Goods in Transit (GIT), Damaged Inventory, Warehouse Inventory, and Shop Floor Inventory.
• Maintain weekly and monthly payment trackers across multiple currencies.
• Prepare customer collection plans and cash flow projections.
• Monitor trade payables, receivables, and working capital metrics.
• Coordinate with Treasury teams for funding requirements and liquidity management.
• Ensure timely recording of vendor invoices in ERP.
• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams for timely GRN processing.
• Ensure vendor payments are executed as per agreed Terms of Trade (TOT).
• Monitor vendor ageing and identify provisioning or write-back requirements as per policy.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and payment credibility.
• Raise and monitor vendor claims, debit notes, rebate claims, promotional recoveries, BA salary recoveries, and other commercial claims.
• Ensure timely collections and settlement of vendor receivables.
• Prepare weekly debtor ageing reports and track overdue balances.
• Recommend provisions and write-offs in line with company policy and accounting standards.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to resolve outstanding claims.
• Ensure timely closure of Bills of Entry (BOE) with AD Banks and RBI.
• Manage FEMA compliance requirements related to imports and foreign remittances.
• Ensure timely payment and reconciliation of customs duties.
• Support Internal Audit, Statutory Audit, IFC Audit, Tax Audit, and Regulatory Reviews.
• Coordinate annual Foreign Liabilities and Assets (FLA) reporting with statutory and legal teams for RBI submission.
• Evaluate commercial viability of new vendor onboarding proposals.
• Analyze pricing changes, product listings, promotional schemes, and their impact on sales and margins.
• Support category managers and commercial teams through financial insights and profitability analysis.
• Review High Sea Sale agreements and ensure compliance with commercial and regulatory requirements.
• Provide decision-support analysis for strategic business initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and automation in commercial finance operations.
