Job summary

J4RVIS is seeking a Finance Operations Analyst to bridge day-to-day financial operations with commercial reporting for the Executive Leadership Team and Service Line Directors. You will own invoicing, AR, budgeting, and monthly close processes, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights.

Based in the Philippines with APAC exposure, you’ll collaborate with the COO and leadership across Australia and the Philippines to translate financial information into business decisions and risk-aware

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in finance operations and commercial analysis.
• Experience in Australia within professional services or consulting.
• Hands-on bookkeeping, invoicing, AR, expenses and financial reporting.
• Strong profitability, budgeting and variance analysis knowledge.
• Excellent communication with non-finance stakeholders.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare company-wide and Service Line reporting on Revenue, Costs, Gross Margin and budgets.
• Track project budgets, actuals and forecast-to-complete.
• Own invoicing and accounts receivable end-to-end.
• Manage bookkeeping pre-work including journal preparation.
• Oversee staff expenses, card reconciliations and quarterly commissions.
• Support month-end and quarterly reporting with external accountant.
• Partner with COO and directors to translate financial data into insights.

Why This Role Exists

J4RVIS needs a single source of financial truth: operationally clean and commercially useful. This role sits between our internal operations and our external accounting firm, doing the pre‑work that keeps our books accurate while layering on the analysis that gives Directors real visibility over profitability, margin, and budget performance. Get this right, and leadership makes better decisions faster. Get it wrong, and every downstream report is compromised.

What You'll Be Doing

• Commercial reporting & analysis: Prepare company‑wide and Service Line reporting across Revenue, Cost of Sales, Gross Margin and budgets, helping leaders understand performance and key variances.
• Project financial management: Track project budgets, actuals and forecast-to-complete, highlighting potential margin risks and partnering with Delivery to address them early.
• Invoicing & Accounts Receivable: Own the invoicing and AR process end‑to‑end, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections and healthy cash flow.
• Finance operations: Manage bookkeeping pre‑work including transaction coding, journal preparation and reconciliation preparation, ensuring accurate information is ready for our external accountant.
• Expenses & commissions: Oversee staff expenses, credit card reconciliations, reimbursables and quarterly commission calculations.
• Month-end & reporting: Work closely with our external accounting partner to support timely month‑end and quarterly reporting, including preparation of financial data and journals.
• Finance business partnering: Build strong relationships with the COO, Service Line Directors, Delivery and Operations across Australia and the Philippines, translating financial information into clear insights and proactively identifying risks and opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Must-have

• 3-5 years' experience across finance operations and commercial analysis
• Experience working in Australia, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment
• Hands‑on experience across bookkeeping, invoicing, Accounts Receivable, expenses and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of profitability, budgeting and variance analysis
• Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence working with non‑finance stakeholders
• Proactive and self‑starter with a willingness to take ownership and continuously learn
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Nice -to-have

• Experience working across global or multi‑country teams, particularly Australia
• Background in IT services or technology consulting
• Familiarity with Xero
• Experience with a professional services PSA or project‑costing tool
• CPA/CA qualification or progress towards one
