Deliver high-quality management reporting and trusted business advice that enable informed decision-making across Germany. At ING, we believe banking should make life easier, not more complicated. Behind that mission is a team of finance professionals who provide the insights and transparency that help the business make better decisions. We’re looking for a Business Controller to join ING Hubs Philippines as an integrated member of Finance Germany. If you think strategically, challenge the status quo, and simplify complex financial issues, this role is for you. You will go beyond the numbers by strengthening controls, analyzing performance, and translating insights into clear advice, with direct visibility to the Board and Senior Management. Join a diverse and inclusive team where equality, initiative, and fresh perspectives are valued.

Role Summary

As a Finance Business Controller within the extended Germany Finance team, you will deliver financial analysis, cost management, planning and forecasting, management reporting, and business advice. You will combine analytical expertise, clear communication, strong business acumen, and knowledge of banking financial models to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders. Success in this role requires ownership of financial data quality, accuracy, and integrity, together with the agility to respond to changing stakeholder needs. You should be curious, confident, and effective in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to communicate clearly and assertively with colleagues and stakeholders.

About the Team

Based at ING Hubs Philippines, you will join a diverse global finance community supporting business domains worldwide. You will collaborate with senior controllers and international stakeholders in a highly visible role that offers broad global exposure and a direct opportunity to improve ING bank performance.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a finance advisory and analytical support partner for FBA Germany, helping stakeholders understand financial performance, cost movements, forecast changes, and key business drivers. Apply strong business acumen and a good understanding of banking financial models, including key value drivers, revenue and cost dynamics, balance sheet considerations, profitability measures, and performance indicators relevant to banking and Retail Banking Germany. Prepare, analyze, and validate actuals, forecasts, Dynamic Planning inputs, and management reporting outputs with strong focus on timeliness, accuracy, and reliability. Support cost management activities, including cost trend analysis, run-rate analysis, savings tracking, cost allocation review, and business case support for efficiency initiatives. Develop clear financial commentaries and management narratives that explain variances, risks, opportunities, and expected financial impacts. Collaborate with Germany-based finance stakeholders, business controllers, global controllers, and country finance teams to align expectations, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth delivery. Operate effectively in a global and international working environment, balancing Manila-based execution with Germany-led priorities, expectations, governance, and ways of working. Work with financial data from key systems and reporting tools, including global management accounting platforms, local SAP environments, Excel-based reporting, presentation materials, and other tools used by the Germany finance team. Support documentation of role expectations, reporting responsibilities, critical activities, operational guidelines, and playbooks to enable sustainable knowledge transfer and performance management. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate recurring reporting and analysis activities, contributing to a more efficient and scalable FBA delivery model. Maintain strong professional discipline during peak reporting, planning, and forecasting cycles, balancing quality, urgency, stakeholder responsiveness, and continuous learning.
