Castaway Tours and Expeditions in Palawan seeks a Guest Experience & Tour Operations Manager to lead, manage, and professionalize our tour guides and boat crew. You will bridge back-of-house logistics with front-line crews to deliver the Castaway vibe on every trip.
The role requires 3+ years in adventure tourism or hospitality, strong leadership, safety focus, and willingness to live on Palawan. You’ll train guides, enforce SOPs, handle guest feedback, and coordinate cross‑department operations.
At Castaway Tours and Expeditions, we don’t do boring island hopping. We host legendary multi-day island expeditions, hidden beach beachcombing, and off‑grid adventures across the pristine waters of Palawan. Our goal is to disconnect our guests from the digital world and connect them with raw nature, local culture, and a tight‑knit community of fellow travelers.
To keep our expeditions world‑class, we are looking for a Guest Experience & Tour Operations Manager—a natural leader, logistical mastermind, and hospitality champion who will oversee, elevate, and lead our entire team of tour guides and boat crew.
This is a dynamic, hands‑on role. While you’ll keep a sharp eye on guest satisfaction and feedback, your primary mission is to lead, manage, and professionalize our entire tour guide and crew operations. You will be the bridge between our back‑of‑house logistics and the front‑line legends who guide our guests through paradise. You are responsible for ensuring our guides are highly trained, motivated, safety‑conscious, and delivering the signature high‑energy "Castaway vibe" on every single trip.
Guide Leadership & Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor our roster of tour guides and boat crew. Build a culture of pride, professionalism, and high energy.
Quality & Vibe Control: Regularly join expeditions to run quality control, audit guide performances, and ensure our safety standards, storytelling, and itinerary execution are flawlessly delivered.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Create, update, and enforce strict SOPs for tour guides, focusing on guest safety, marine conservation protocols, first aid, and exceptional customer service.
Guest Relations & Feedback: Monitor guest reviews, address feedback proactively, and continuously iterate on the tour experience to turn every guest into a lifelong Castaway advocate.
Crisis & Safety Management: Serve as the first line of leadership for on‑water emergencies, weather disruptions, or medical situations, ensuring the crew acts swiftly and professionally.
Cross‑Department Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with our hostel operations, sales teams, and local logistics managers to ensure booking transitions onto the boats are seamless.
The Guide of Guides: You have 3+ years of experience in adventure tourism, tour operations, or hospitality management. Experience leading outdoor/expedition crews is a massive plus.
A Strong Leader: You know how to manage, motivate, and earn the respect of a diverse, local Filipino crew and international team members.
Guest‑Obsessed: You live for creating "wow" moments and have a zero‑tolerance policy for mediocre guest service.
Highly Organized: You can manage schedules, boat manifests, and guide rotations without breaking a sweat, even when weather conditions force last‑minute changes.
Safety First: You are certified in First Aid/CPR (or willing to get certified immediately) and hold a deep respect for the ocean and safety protocols.
Island Resident: You are ready to live on the ground in Palawan, embrace the island lifestyle, and handle remote‑destination logistics with a positive attitude.
Competitive salary package based on experience.
