Job summary

EGP SMART ENERGY PTE. LTD seeks an Engineer to join the Maintenance & Service team, focusing on GIS and high‑voltage equipment for the Malaysia market.

You will perform technical analysis, develop engineering solutions, and coordinate site activities while collaborating with customers, OEMs and internal teams for smooth service delivery. The role emphasizes site-based work, on‑site commissioning and testing, and timely response to urgent site issues or after-hours requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in GIS, switchgear or high‑voltage equipment engineering.
• Knowledge of GIS primary and secondary systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering documents.
• Strong analytical, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and site-based work.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for GIS and switchgear commissioning, maintenance and upgrade works across various voltage levels.
• Review and develop technical solutions, work methodologies and engineering approaches for site activities and project execution.
• Support on-site commissioning and testing, review test results and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct root cause investigations for equipment faults and propose corrective and preventive measures.
• Prepare, review and maintain method statements, service reports, test records and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with internal service and project teams to plan, schedule and execute site works.
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers, suppliers and OEMs to clarify technical specifications, resolve technical queries and support spare parts planning.
• Communicate with customers and end-users to understand technical requirements and provide engineering recommendations.
