Job summary

EGP SMART ENERGY PTE. LTD is seeking a Project Engineer to support EHV substations and transmission projects for the Malaysia market, focusing on engineering design, site supervision and QA/QC to ensure safe, reliable delivery.

You will collaborate with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers to meet project schedules and technical requirements, while upholding IEC/IEEE standards and quality practices in a dynamic field environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design reviews, installation, testing and commissioning of EHV substations and transmission systems.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and client specifications for GIS, CTs, VTs, transformers and protection systems.
• Assist the Project Manager with project schedules, budgets and material approvals.
• Supervise site activities including cable terminations, SF₆ handling, HV testing and system energisation.
• Prepare and verify technical documents such as installation procedures, checklists, test reports and as-built drawings.
• Enforce safety, QA/QC and risk management practices throughout all phases of project execution.

About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Project team and support the execution of Extra High Voltage (EHV) power transmission projects for our Malaysia market. You will contribute to engineering design, site supervision and quality assurance to support the safe, reliable and timely delivery of substation and transmission infrastructure. You will work closely with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers to support project execution and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities
