About Alucraft - Manila Design Office
The Alucraft Manila Design Office, established in 2018, is a key part of our global design capability. Located on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, the office has grown significantly and continues to expand as part of Alucraft's long-term strategy.
The Manila team plays a critical role in live project delivery, working closely with our Dublin-based management, engineering, factory, and site teams. This is not a back-office role - our designers are deeply involved in real projects, real decisions, and real outcomes.
Role Overview – Job Purpose & Objectives
We are currently seeking Façade Designers, Senior Designers, and Lead Designers to support our expanding workload. The role level will be aligned with your experience, capability, and leadership potential.
As part of the design team, you will work closely with your Team Leader, project teams, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, technically robust façade design solutions, aligned with programme, budget, and manufacturing constraints.
You will contribute not only to individual project delivery, but also to the continuous improvement of design quality, processes, and technical standards within the business.
Key Responsibilities (Role-Dependent)
Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include:
Participating in the mobilisation and planning of façade projects
Developing façade design solutions, material specifications, and quantities aligned with Alucraft’s production and outsourcing capabilities
Identifying and requesting critical design information early to support procurement, manufacture, and installation
Produce and review drawings in line with European standards, Schüco systems, and Alucraft design principles
Reviewing drawings with the project team prior to issue to ensure technical accuracy and buildability
Managing and maintaining design documentation, including drawing registers, RFIs, forward loads, and cutting lists
Communicating design risks, constraints, or programme impacts clearly to the wider project team
Contributing to process improvements, innovation initiatives, and standardisation across the design office
Keeping up to date with new façade systems, software, and industry best practices
Senior / Lead roles will also:
Mentor junior designers
Review and challenge design solutions
Support technical quality control and team performance
Person Specification
We are looking for motivated façade designers at Designer, Senior Designer, and Lead Designer levels who are keen to work on large-scale European façade projects and develop their technical capability within an established international design office.
Essential
Degree or qualification in façade design, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline
Experience in façade detailing, technical drawing, and coordination within a design office environment
Strong understanding of aluminium façade systems, including curtain walling, unitised & rainscreen systems
Ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured drawings suitable for manufacture and construction
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a distributed international team
Highly Advantageous (but not mandatory)
Exposure to European façade standards and systems, particularly Schüco
Understanding of façade engineering fundamentals, including:
Thermal performance and condensation risk
Water and air tightness principles
Fire performance and compliance considerations.
Experience supporting or coordinating façade packages for large commercial developments.
Familiarity with structured design review processes and quality check procedures
For Senior / Lead Designer roles
Proven experience working on complex façade packages from concept through to production
Ability to review, challenge, and guide design solutions in line with European best practice
Experience mentoring junior designers and supporting team development
Confidence coordinating with engineers, production teams, and overseas project stakeholders
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Clear and confident communication
Ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
High attention to technical detail and drawing quality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a structured design environment
