Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer/Editor to join our team. The successful candidate will review, edit and produce accurate shop drawings for structural steel fabrication and site erection.

You will interpret drawings, coordinate with engineers and fabricators, and ensure compliance with standards. Tekla proficiency is mandatory, and five years of detailing experience is expected.

Experienced Structural Steel Detailer/Editor

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer / Editor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in structural steel detailing and a strong understanding of steel fabrication, construction drawings and detailing standards.

This role is suited to a detailer who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work, can work independently and has the technical ability to review, edit and improve detailing drawings to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and edit structural steel shop drawings
• Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Check detailing work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Ensure drawings are suitable for fabrication and site erection.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, fabricators and other relevant stakeholders.
• Manage detailing tasks and deadlines across multiple projects.
• Maintain consistent drawing quality and adhere to relevant standards and company procedures.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel detailing.
• Proven experience in a structural steel detailing role and sound knowledge of the industry.
• Proficiency in Tekla software is a must.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency in English both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Previous experience on Australian projects is advantageous.
