Arbor Mobility in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Model Based Development Engineer to own the controls design layer of the EV stack, turning requirements into executable Simulink/Stateflow models and proving them in MIL. You will defend decisions in reviews and collaborate with firmware to ensure correct implementation.

The role requires deep Simulink/Stateflow expertise, strong math, and experience with vehicle control algorithms, estimation, and model-based development in a fast-growing EV startup.

Qualifications

• Requires B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of automotive experience in model-based development; EV experience preferred.
• Deep hands-on experience with Simulink, Stateflow, and MATLAB; proven model shipping.
• Strong foundation in state-space, control theory, estimation, and numerical stability.

Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into models for VCU, BMS, and MCU features.
• Develop battery SOC/SOH estimators and vehicle dynamics models.
• Own MIL verification end-to-end with test harnesses and coverage analysis.
• Bridge models to firmware; review implementations with fixed-point vs floating-point decisions.
• Maintain modelling guidelines, libraries, data dictionaries, and version control.
• Correlate models with bench, dyno, and on-road data; re-tune as needed.
• Support SIL/HIL test infrastructure and code-generation workflows.
