Job summary

Shore360, an Australian-owned BP firm in the Philippines, seeks an experienced CostX-based quantity surveyor to develop and refine measurement templates, perform detailed takeoffs, and apply rates accurately. The role supports remote collaboration and cross-functional teams.

Strong English and attention to detail are essential. You will maintain documentation, offer QC on measurements, and share best practices to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• High level of understanding and skills with CostX and other measurement software programs.
• Understanding and experience in cost control systems.
• Great level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding standard method of measurement and quantity surveying practices and processes.
• Effective communication and relationship building skills.
• High level of English language speaking and comprehension.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work remotely and take direction via teams and other similar programs.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Estimating Team to develop and refine existing standardized templates within CostX for efficient and accurate measurement.
• Collaborate with team members to refine and validate templates to meet the team's needs.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for building works in CostX following templates and SOPs.
• Use advanced measurement tools to capture precise dimensions from digital drawings and models.
• Ensure accurate application of rates provided in the templates to takeoffs.
• Identify and report mismatches between templates and project scope.
• Maintain document control for takeoff basis and generate clarification registers.
• Provide QC to ensure measurement accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Share best practices and tips for efficient measurement processes.

Establishing Standard Measuring Templates:

• Assist the Estimating Team to develop and refine existing standardized templates within CostX for efficient and accurate measurement.
• Collaborate with team members, to refine and validate these templates, ensuring they meet the team's needs.

Detailed Quantity Takeoff and application of rates:

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for building works in CostX in accordance with the templates and standard operating procedures provided, ensuring all measurements are accurate and align with project specifications.
• Use the software's advanced measurement tools to capture precise dimensions from digital drawings and models.
• Ensure accurate application of the rates provided in the measurement templates to the completed takeoff/measure.
• Identify and report instances where the provided templates do not, or may not, align with the project scope.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate document control to ensure clarity of information used for basis of takeoff/measure.
• Generate clear clarification registers to communicate assumptions made during takeoff/measure.
• Ensure all measurement data is accurately documented and easily accessible for review and audit purposes.

Quality Control and Accuracy:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all measurements taken in CostX.
• Regularly review and cross-check measurements against project drawings and specifications to identify and correct any discrepancies.
• Provide feedback to the project team on measurement accuracy and any identified issues or improvements needed.

Training and Support:

• Share best practices and tips for efficient measurement processes, helping to improve overall team proficiency with the software.

Experience and qualifications:

• High level of understanding and skills with CostX and other measurement software programs.
