Job summary

Cure International Children's Hospital is seeking an ER nurse to assess and monitor incoming emergency patients, coordinate care, and support physicians across multiple units in Davao City, Philippines.

The ideal candidate will hold a BS Nursing with PRC license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and at least 1 year of staff nurse experience. Fluency in English and local dialects is expected to communicate with patients and families effectively.

Job description

LOCATION: Davao City, Davao Del Sur, Philippines 8000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assess incoming ER Patients, Monitor vital signs, administer immediate medications or interventions, and assist physicians during procedures.
  2. Accompany the physician and actively listen to their verbal assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  3. Accurately input notes, histories, and orders into the hospital’s Electronic Medical Records System (EMR) in real-time.
  4. Coordinate with doctors, specialist, and unit nurses to safely transfer patients to inpatient or surgery wards (admission)
  5. Provides compassionate updates to families and helps manage their stress during emergency situations.
  6. Keeping the instruments and equipment used in the units in a safe manner for use.
  7. Explain discharge instructions or post- emergency care procedures to patients leaving the ER.
  8. Prepares and explains procedures to patients; assembles required equipment, supplies, and instruments;
  9. Assists physicians with a variety of approved procedures
  10. Rotate to other clinical areas (OR, Ward, Mobile Clinic) as necessary
  11. Cross-train to other areas in the hospital as required and skill competency level dictates
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH:
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g. Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements.
  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc.
  • Identifying, reporting & self-managing hazards where appropriate.
  • Early and accurate reporting of incidents at work and raising issues of concern when identified.
  • Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage, and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Minimum Education: Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  2. License/Certificate; if any: License by the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing, Philippines, BLS, ACLS, PALS
  3. Minimum Experience Required: At least a 1-year experience as a Staff Nurse
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  1. Fluent in local dialects such as Bisaya and Tagalog.
  2. Able to communicate well in English, verbal and written.
  3. Able to develop and provide individual patient care according to established plans of care and standards.
  4. Able to identify and interpret early indicators of the crisis and intervene immediately.
  5. Able to evaluate a patient's response to teaching, and plan in order to determine the effectiveness of the plan.
