Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Laguna, Philippines is seeking a motivated engineer to install, qualify, maintain and optimize laser assembly and test equipment to ensure high reliability, performance and production readiness in a cleanroom environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement using data-driven methods, RCA, FMEA, and DOE while supporting training for production personnel to maximize yield and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or its equivalent.
• Experience or exposure to equipment installation, calibration and preventive maintenance is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills preferred.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation, qualification, maintenance and optimization of laser assembly and test equipment to ensure high reliability, performance, and production readiness
• Responsible on troubleshooting equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness
• Support product development, equipment upgrades, automation projects, and process improvements to enhance yield, quality, and manufacturing efficiency
• Develop and maintain equipment documentation, preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with quality, ESD, laser safety, cleanroom, and EHS standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, equipment suppliers, and production personnel to resolve technical issues, provide training, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or its equivalent. A highly motivated recent college graduate is encouraged to apply.

Skills

• Equipment Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining assembly and test equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.
• Automation & Controls: Strong knowledge of motion control, robotics, machine vision, sensors, and industrial automation systems for equipment integration and optimization is a big plus.
• Process & Equipment Optimization: Ability to improve equipment performance, process capability, yield cycle time, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through data-driven analysis
• Equipment Qualification & Validation: performing equipment installation, calibration and preventive maintenance to ensure production readiness
• Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Proficient in structured problem-solving tools such as RCA, FMEA, SPC, and DOE to identify failure mechanisms and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite in a cleanroom or office environment.
