Job summary

Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI Global) in the Philippines seeks a skilled Equipment Engineer to lead maintenance and sustain Power Module assembly equipment, ensuring high machine availability and product quality.

You will guide technicians, handle preventive/corrective maintenance, support new equipment qualifications, and work with cross-functional teams to improve uptime, yield, and production capacity while adhering to ESH standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in semiconductor OSAT or EMS with backend assembly/finishing experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience supervising Equipment Technicians.
• Working knowledge of semiconductor/SMT/EMS manufacturing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment to achieve high OEE and product quality.
• Support production through machine setup and changeovers.
• Assist in installation and qualification of new equipment, tooling, and fixtures for NPI.
• Improve uptime, yield, and throughput via tooling improvements.
• Support installation, calibration, and maintenance of metrology equipment (XRF, profile projectors, CSAM).
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Equipment Technicians.
• Assist in managing spare parts and tooling inventories to control costs.
• Participate in PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA, and VSM for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors for technical support and services.
• Ensure compliance with ESH policies and regulations.

Job description

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent technology-related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the semiconductor OSAT or EMS industry, with hands-on experience in backend manufacturing processes (Assembly & Finishing).
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience, managing and guiding at least one Equipment Technician.
• Maintenance & Equipment Experience: Proven experience in equipment line sustenance, troubleshooting, repair, conversion, and preventive maintenance. Knowledge of automated assembly and related equipment is required, including dispensing, curing, pin insertion, case assembly, potting, screen printing, molding, deflash/plating, trim/form/singulation, tester/handler/marking systems, and metrology equipment used in power module or similar package manufacturing. Familiarity with basic testers and handlers is an advantage.
• Process Knowledge: Working knowledge of semiconductor, SMT, or EMS manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Support the achievement of optimal Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Power Module assembly equipment to ensure high machine availability, performance, and product quality.
• Operations Support & Readiness: Assist in sustaining Power Module production operations through machine setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting support. Provide support for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including installation and qualification of new equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
• Production Line Optimization: Implement equipment and tooling improvements to enhance machine uptime, yield, throughput, and overall backend production capacity.
• Metrology Equipment Support: Assist in the installation, calibration, operation, and maintenance of backend metrology equipment, including XRF, non-contact measurement systems, CSAM, profile projectors, and other relevant inspection tools.
• Technical Leadership & Training: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Equipment Technicians, promoting effective troubleshooting practices and continuous skills development.
• Cost Control: Support the efficient management of maintenance spare parts, consumables, and tooling inventories to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as PDCA, DMAIC, FMEA, and VSM to reduce equipment-related defects, minimize downtime, and improve production performance.
• Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Assist in coordinating with equipment vendors and suppliers regarding technical support, spare parts procurement, maintenance services, training, equipment installation, and buy-off activities.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) policies, company standards, and applicable occupational health and safety regulations while performing all job-related duties.
